Roland DG Offers a Remote Control Solution to Streamline Inkjet Printer Operation

Hamamatsu, Japan, August 29, 2024 – Roland DG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters worldwide, is pleased to announce the launch of a new service that allows users to remotely control several important functions of Roland DG inkjet printers to further improve their operational efficiency.

The system enables remote control of various printer functions such as powering the printer and heater on/off, circulating white ink, performing cleaning, and running test prints*, using mobile devices and PCs. This allows the user to complete printer set up for a job before leaving for work, so that printing can begin immediately after arriving at their workplace. The printer can also be turned off remotely, when long print runs are completed at night, thereby minimising time wastage and providing a more secure operation.

In addition, users can now modify the display screen for remotely monitoring their printers’ operational status such as operating rate, printing progress, and remaining ink level. Frequently used icons can now be customised to the user's preferred layout in easy-to-access locations. This feature allows for a more comfortable and optimised work environment for each customer.

These new services are included with Printer Monitoring Pro, which is available with Roland DG Connect Premium and Professional plans. We are currently offering a free 90-day trial on Roland DG Connect Premium Plan. Roland DG printer owners are encouraged to take this opportunity to experience these new services along with Roland DG Connect.

*Heater on/off and white ink circulation are only available on models equipped with the respective functions.
