Roland DG Launches Top-of-the-Line TrueVIS Printer with Unparalleled Image Quality and Superior Productivity
“The TrueVIS is our flagship brand for large-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters, which have won worldwide acclaim from sign and graphics professionals for their ability to produce outstanding graphics with the extraordinary power to excite hearts and minds.” said Tony Miller, President, Global Sales and Marketing Division. “The XP-640 is the latest model in this series, and we have further refined its print quality and achieved top-class productivity through the addition of several innovations, including a new print head, upgraded control technology, and improved ink.”
The newly designed dual staggered print heads eject finer ink droplets at higher density and speed. The new high-speed data control technology maximises the performance of the print heads while achieving beautiful, high-definition image quality. Excellent productivity of 15.2 m2/h in standard mode for 8-colour PVC and 22.5 m2/h in standard mode for 4-colour PVC is achieved.
In addition to CMYK, orange and green, the new eco-solvent TH ink features vibrant new red ink to achieve the highest accuracy with red and orange expression, the most crucial and frequently used colours in sign graphics. The wider colour gamut also enables accurate reproduction of corporate colours. The ink price per millilitre is lower than that of conventional ink, and ink usage is reduced through improved profiling to maximise profitability for high-volume production.
True Rich Color, a printing setting that optimises the potential of the device and creates beautiful and realistic graphics that combine vivid colours with neutral grays, smooth gradations, and natural skin tones has also evolved further. Based on the True Rich Color Standard setting, the user now can quickly select the ideal colour variation including more vivid colour, deeper colour, or softer colour depending on the setting and the client's requirements.
The XP-640 is packed with features for efficient high-quality output, including an easy-to-use 7-inch colour LCD touch panel, a media setup function that automatically performs accurate media gap and compensation adjustment, a media take-up for less media skewing to ensure stable production, and a perforated sheet cutter for quick and efficient post-processing work.
To minimise downtime, customers can now easily replace caps, wipers, wiper cleaners, and other parts around the print heads, which were previously done by service technicians. Roland DG Connect, a cloud-based service provides strong backup for output operations with a full array of functions, including more accurate support in the event of errors, operational visibility, easy profit calculation, smooth downloading of profiles, and more.
Miller said, “Since launching our first large format inkjet printers in 1997, we have continued to offer the most advanced, industry-leading solutions to the market. In recent years, sign and graphic production has been diversifying expression through UV and resin inks. However, customer expectations and demand for eco-solvent ink, with its eye-catching vividness and superior weather resistance, remain strong, and it is still the mainstay today. The TrueVIS XP-640, developed based on the technology and know-how we have cultivated over many years, is a product that has further evolved in all aspects, including image quality, productivity, operation efficiency, and lower price. It is a robust product that will empower professionals in sign and graphic production, especially those who have clients with large output volumes and demanding deadlines. We will continue to develop and provide attractive solutions to contribute to our customers' creativity and business expansion.”
