21-Jul-2017 ‘With Roland’ Competition at Mobile Imagination Centre in QLD

Sydney, Australia, July 21, 2017 – Roland DG Australia, a leading manufacturer of wide format inkjet printers and 3D devices, today announced the continuation of its ‘With Roland’ Competition at upcoming Mobile Imagination Centre locations in regional Queensland.

The custom-built Roland Mobile Imagination Centre (MIC) has been taking the concepts of RolandClinic and the Creative Centre to regional locations across Australia since early this year. The MIC’s next stop will be QLD in August whereby visitors can see the latest technology and applications from Roland DG, and also take the opportunity to enter the ‘With Roland’ Competition – our search for the most inspiring and creative piece of work created with a Roland device.

At each event, the winning piece will receive an iDecora Desktop Vinyl Cutter and also be eligible to win the overall main prize, which is a trip for two people to a Luxury Villa with Private Beach on Bedarra Island in QLD, valued at approx. $5000.

“This is a great competition that not only has some fantastic prizes on offer, but is easy for our customers to enter. All they need to do is take a photo of a piece of work they’ve created on a Roland that they’re proud of, and submit it online when registering their attendance at an MIC venue. Too easy!” said Greg Stone, Product and Marketing Manager. “We’re looking forward to receiving even more images of inspiring and original works that have been created by our customers.”

Locations for the upcoming MIC run are: Cairns on 22 August, Townsville 23 August and Mackay 24 August, with exact venues to be confirmed shortly.

19-Jul-2017 Roland DG Saves 3.5 Tonnes of Waste from Landfill

Sydney, Australia, July 19, 2017 – Roland DG Australia Pty Ltd, a leading manufacturer of wide format inkjet printers and printer cutters worldwide, today announced that its Cartridge Recycle Program has diverted almost 3.5 tonnes of waste from ending up in landfill.

Since Roland DG’s Cartridge Recycle Program was launched in October last year, 3,449.2kgs of cartridge and associated consumables waste has been collected in Roland DG collection boxes, located in major dealerships and at large customer sites across the country. The materials collected equate to laying 127.93km of TonerPave, a low cost, lower carbon footprint asphalt developed from recycled materials, including the toner collected within the ink cartridges.

The program is run in partnership with Close the Loop, Australia’s largest recycling and resource recovery company for imaging consumables, with 100% of every cartridge either reused or recycled.

“We are pleased to see that our Cartridge Recycle Program is having such a positive impact on the wide format industry, and the environment as a whole, and that we’ve been able to significantly reduce the amount of empty inkjet cartridges ending up in landfill”, said Greg Stone, Product and Marketing Manager at Roland DG Australia. “It is great that this waste is not only recycled, but reused, and turned into a range of materials such as pens, rulers, and even asphalt – re-enforcing Close the Loop’s ‘zero waste to landfill’ philosophy.”

There is no cost for customers interested in getting involved in Roland DG’s Cartridge Recycle Program. They simply need to drop their empty cartridges at a participating local dealer or Authorised Roland service agent. The boxes are then collected by Close the Loop for processing.
