The livery of the three Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG V8 Supercars, along with the race transporter, pit areas and all other graphic requirements will be produced on the Roland PRO4 XR-640 Printer/Cutter, and CAMM-1 GX-640 vinyl cutter.
Erebus Motorsport V8 Commercial Manager Jeff Reibel is excited about the new arrangement. "We look forward to furthering our position as industry leader in the vehicle and durable graphics market through this deal."

With the team's sole owner a female, Erebus Motorsport is unique in major league sports, particularly motorsport, and standing apart from the crowd is at the centre of the organisation's existence. Erebus Motorsport arrived on the world stage when it became the first AMG Customer Sports team outside Europe to take the SLS AMG GT3 to victory, then was awarded the 'Best Presented Car' award at the AMG Customer Sports Awards in Germany in 2011. Starting with one of the stunning 'Gullwings' in 2011, Erebus Motorsport expanded its operation in 2012 to finish second in the Bathurst 12 Hour and now has two SLS' in the Australian GT Championship, which it currently leads. 28-Nov-2012 New White and Metallic ECO-SOL MAX 2™ Inks
New white and metallic inks drastically increase productivity and offer specialised colour applications for the recently released SOLJET PRO4 XR-640.
Sydney, Australia, November 28, 2012 ― Roland DG Corporation, the leading worldwide provider of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters for professional durable graphics, today announced to start shipping the newly-developed ECO-SOL MAX 2™ white and metallic silver inks for SOLJET PRO4 XR-640, the industry’s most advanced eco-solvent printer/cutter to date. This will enable use for a wide range of applications, including window graphics, vehicles graphics, large posters, decals and labels with excellent added-value, fully utilising the potential of the XR-640.
“The XR-640, an eco-solvent inkjet printer cutter, was announced in September this year as our flagship model. With the newly available white and metallic silver inks, the XR-640 has achieved almost double the productivity of predecessor's in the same class,” said Conrad Birkett, Roland DG Business Development Manager. “In fact, the standard mode of the XR-640 can match the image quality and density of its predecessor's high quality mode. As a result, you can now print high quality large-scale items in a much shorter time frame.”
With drastically improved density, the newly developed ECO SOL MAX 2™ white ink, is particularly useful for the production of applications using transparent film or materials. For example, when producing decals to be applied to vehicles or bicycles, colours can be accurately matched by first printing a base layer with white ink, and then carrying out full-colour printing over the top. In addition, the pigments of the new metallic ink are more reflective for a much brighter result^. These new inks will now produce applications that have a much greater impact and enable users to add value to their offering.
Furthermore, the XR-640 has refined the automated ink circulation system, which prevents the pigment in white and metallic ink from settling. As well as maintaining stable output quality, waste of white and metallic inks required for maintenance has been cut by around 50% in comparison with predecessor’s model, contributing to significant reduction of running costs.
About the SOLJET PRO4 XR-640
The 64-inch XR-640, which won a Viscom best of 2012 award, combines accelerated print speeds with Roland's renowned integrated print/cut technology, an innovative new print head design, and new ECO-SOL MAX2 inks in nine colors: cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK), plus light cyan (Lc), light magenta (Lm), white (Wh), metallic silver (Mt) and new light black (Lk). The XR-640 is designed for volume production while allowing the professionals in sign graphics market to express their creativity with high-end effects and finishes as well as to create the profitable new applications and markets.

14-Nov-2012 Roland Users Claim Multiple PICA's
Proud Roland users Prints Alive and Mercury Creative, take out several awards at the recent NSW and SA 2012 PICA events.
Sydney, Australia, November 15, 2012 - Leading wide format manufacturer Roland DG Australia is proud to announce a number of awards won by Roland Users at the 2012 PICA (Printing Industries Craftsmanship Awards) events.
The Printing Industries Craftsmanship Awards, known as PICA, celebrate excellence in the print, packaging, and visual communication industry, and recognise the special efforts of printers by awarding their best work. Gold award winners go on to the annual National Print Awards.
Prints Alive from South Australia, were rewarded with a Gold in Wide Format Printing, for an impressive pull up banner produced on their Roland VersaCAMM VS-640 printer cutter.
One thing that sets Prints Alive apart from its competitors is that it custom profiles all medias. "We pride ourselves on exacting colour - it is an ethic that our customers appreciate," Managing Director, Warren Darker commented. "When the time came for our small two-person business to expand its offering into outdoor signage, the Roland VS-640 was the pick of printers.''
After carefully profiling the HVG media the Roland VS-640 was able to produce an accurate and impressive result for the winning banner. "There were a lot of grey tones within the image around the metallic parts of the car, as well as a background which needed to be free of colour casts and show off the beautiful sharpness and contrast of the image,'' said Warren.
Warren continued, "We were so pleased with the result, so we entered the banner into the PICA awards for South Australia and came up trumps!"
Another winner, this time at the NSW PICA event, was Mercury Creative, an independent, integrated print and design company located in Pymble, NSW. Mercury Creative took out a number of awards on the night including Gold and Silver in the Wide Format category, and Bronze in both the Multiple Piece category and Small Business category.
"For a small business we had huge success," said Sam Lane, Print Director at Mercury Creative. "Obviously a large part of this is due to the machinery used to print our winning entries."
Both Gold and Silver awards were printed on their Roland XJ-640 wide format printer and the Bronze awards utilised a number of Roland devices including their new VS-640 printer cutter.
"In short, we wanted to thank Roland DG for providing such awesome machines," said Sam.
Roland DG Sales Director John Wall, commended the winners, "Congratulations to Prints Alive, Mercury Creative and all other PICA winners. It is great to see the industry rewarding high quality work and we are proud to see that Roland devices are enabling users to achieve outstanding results."
